It was first introduced as a means for businesses to communicate with one another quickly so that deals could be made quicker. Today in the 20th century it has grown to be more than that. Mass communication is now a means of entertainment for the public, an act of enrichment to education, also it is easier to receive information that concerns the public, and of course like in the 1920's an enrichment for businesses themselves in terms of marketing, public relations, propaganda and more noticeably now than ever, with our upcoming election, political communication . Even as early as 1960 philosophers like Marshal McLuhan became fixated on the idea that "the medium is the message". Now more than ever, this quote is true.
We the public have become fixated on media. The idea that we can access numerous amounts of information on various topics boggles our minds and in some cases takes over our daily routines.
